 Almond Bread Pudding
     6-8 cups raisin bread, stale  3 cups egg nog
     1 cup milk  3 ea. eggs, lightly beaten
     1 tsp. vanilla  1 tsp. almond extract
     1/2 cup cherries or cranberries, dried  1 cup almond paste
     3 tbs. flour  1/4 cup almonds, slivered
Plump the dried cherries or cranberries in whiskey, Amaretto or rum. Drain, reserving liquor for use in an Amaretto sauce topping.

Combine the almond paste and flour into pea-sized granules using a pastry cutter and set aside.

Combine the milk, egg nog, eggs, sugar, vanilla, almond extract and beat well.

Cut the bread into one inch pieces and combine with the cherries or cranberries and almond paste mixture into a 9 by 13 inch baking dish. Pour the milk mixture over the bread and let it stand an hour to absorb milk before baking in the upper third of a 325-degree oven for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until brown and puffed.
